Resetting Canon Error Code – “E4” Manually

Understanding how your printer works is crucial in order to avoid any delays of important printing projects or jobs. If you have purchased a Canon inkjet printer and the display has error: “E4” it means that the cartridge is used up. You can either refill or replace the cartridge to continue with your printing project.

When this problem occurs, you cannot use print, copy, scan and fax function before the problem is fixed. To fix this problem, it is recommended to replace inkjet cartridge as early as possible. However, if you want to continue using the printer without replacing the cartridge, you must turn off the ink level detection function. Be careful that if you print out pages in this condition, your printer can be damaged, while sending fax or scan is not a problem in that situation.

This may at times happen when you are using or installing cartridges that are non-original. When Canon Printer identifies this issue, the first step to fix this problem is by stop printing. Here are given some of the manual way to correct Canon Error Code- ‘E4’-

• Turn on your printing device

• Wait till the Error Code (E4) is showed by the Printer Led Screen

• Then press and hold the button for Black & Color for about 5 – 10 seconds
