Lexmark Quits Inkjet Business and Welcomes Laser Printing Technology

Lexmark Inkjet Cartridges has made an announcement during this year that it would move away from its inkjet printing technology and focus on laser printing. This decision has dismissed jobs of more than thousand employees. So, the question is- Whether inkjet technology is becoming extinct or is it just Lexmark’s retreating from this technology? The other printer manufacturers like HP, Epson, Canon and Brother still continues to develop inkjet technologies. Therefore, it is clear that this technology is still in the market and according to research, all-in-one inkjet printer make up almost 70% of the printing market.

Most individual users and small businesses that need color printers prefer to use inkjet as the running cost of colored toner cartridges for laser printers can exceed your budget. Moreover, many users get their used cartridges refilled, which is not satisfactory in the case of laser toners but highly cost-effective when it comes to ink. So, why has Lexmark made this decision to stop its inkjet sector and move towards laser printing?

When it came to laser printing technology for Lexmark, the company has not earned a big profit in the market, especially when compared to other brand names. However, this doesn’t mean that Lexmark is moving away from its current consumers.

Undoubtedly, many consumers especially business consumers are moving to laser printing but the market for inkjet printing are still dominating. You can still get the latest inkjet technology from other brands of printer including superior quality of third party remanufactured Inkjet Cartridges and ink refilling from suppliers like Atlantic Inkjet.
