Cartridges should be handled carefully. Proper attention should be taken while using the printer and inserting a cartridge in a printer. The print head of the cartridge also needs special care and attention. The print head of the cartridge should not be touched by hand. If the print head is regularly touched by hand or any other object, it gets scratched easily, it can also cause harm to the nozzle of the cartridge from where the ink originally comes out. 

A print head which is damaged or poorly utilized can never give quality output. It can’t be recognized by the printer itself. A printer can’t detect cartridge insertion if the cartridge has a damaged print head. It is good to cover the print head with care when not in use. If the print head comes in contact with air for a long time, the ink nozzle may become dry. It can block the ink flow, the channel through which ink passes may not work. Therefore, it is important to take care of your print head for proper functioning of your cartridge.
