There are various types of cartridges available in the market as per the requirements of the user. Specific types of cartridges are used in specific printers for e.g., laser printer use only toner cartridges, inkjet printer use ink cartridge. Other forms of cartridges are also available in the market like recycled cartridges, compatible cartridge, compatible toner cartridges. Earlier, compatible toner cartridges were called ‘drill and fill’ toner cartridges. The companies take the old discarded cartridges and drill a hole in them. Then fill the new toner, close the hole and present it again to the customer as compatible toner cartridges at reduced price. Earlier there were only few local companies that used to do this task, but now, big brands are also doing it.

The companies are providing a large variety of cartridges to the customer according to their needs and economy. The recycled or compatible cartridges are quite cheaper than the original cartridge.
