Fortunately, there is the other way out. Recycling or refilling empty toner cartridges significantly decrease the cartridge heap diverted to landfills. In the U.S. alone, every year a million tons of printer cartridges are discarded to landfills. These thrown away e-wastes are posing greater threat to the environment as they release harmful toxic that can contaminate soil, air, water. This environmental contamination can extend for many years since printer cartridges are not decomposed like organic matter.
