Some inkjet printers yield fairly large numbers of pages and this usually varies according to the cartridges used. Printers using HP 15 (Black), HP 45 (Black), HP 23 (Color) and HP 75 (Color) inkjet cartridges allow the customers to print an average number of up to 600 pages and the costs incurred are comparatively low but LaserJet using toner cartridges that yield an average 1400 pages, but are sold at a much higher cost.
Generally, toner is often preferred by consumers over traditional ink because the cartridges are large and hold plenty of toners. It tends to last longer and the expected lifespan of some cartridges are as many as 5,000 pages. For heavy printing work, toner is preferable over inkjet cartridges.
On the other hand, if cost is an issue than inkjets are an ideal option for you. It is much affordable to purchase ink cartridges instead of toner. (Moreover, the quality of the ink is also superior because it doesn’t last long and runs out before it goes bad from becoming old.) Moreover the quality of ink is also superior and prints high quality texts and sharp images. This option is easier for the average consumers as they can easily replace the run out cartridges with refill kits or compatible cartridges and also save a few bucks from their printing cost. A page printed with ink costs around 8 to 10 cents.
It is believed that inkjets always produce better-quality prints, but (this is because they use that is better for printing photographs.) Laser models have also made much progress (, though, and) and can now print text and color graphics of better quality that are almost identical to the inkjet standard. Finally, with regard to the environmental issues, inkjets are much eco-friendly than laser printers, as they do not contain all the large cartridges.
Whatever may be your choice, each has its merits and demerits that need to be evaluated.
