The Epson inkjet printers use the ‘piezoelectric crystal’ technique which is totally different from thermal type of printers. This technology is used in functioning of the cartridge. It forces the ink in the nozzle with the electrifying crystals to put the right amount of ink at right place on the paper. The major difference in piezoelectric crystal technology from the thermal method is it uses the crystals that move upon electronic impulses. The unused ink is returned to the reservoir by the use of electro magnetic effect.
The cartridges of Epson printers are used in commercial and professional printers where a huge number of pages are need to printed everyday. This type of technology proves to be the cost effective in terms of saving the ink. It also gives the better result in quality of the print out compared to the thermal printers. Epson offers a range of cartridges for its printers and all are specific to particular model of the printer.
