Steps To Replace Toner HP Refills:

Press the cover release and open the printer’s top cover fully. In case the printer has been on, the fuser must have gone hot. This area must be labeled as ‘Do Not Touch’.

Note the position of the four cartridges: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black. Now, pull the colored toner release lever on the cartridge to be replaced towards the front of the printer.

Hold the toner cartridge from the top center and lift the right end of the cartridge. Now, pull the cartridge to the right to release the left-hand end as shown. Remove the toner cartridge and discard it in accordance with your local regulations.

Unpack the new toner cartridge and gently shake it from side to side to loosen and distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.

Take hold of the toner cartridge from the top center. Remove the adhesive tape from the underside of the cartridge.    Do not touch the toner release lever until the toner cartridge is installed into the drum. If you touch it, it will open the toner release slot and spill toner.

Holding the toner cartridge by its top center (with the colored release lever to the right), insert the left end of the cartridge into the top of the Drum, pushing it firmly against the spring on the drum unit.

Dispose the old cartridge carefully by placing it inside the pack, so that the new one came in. Remember, if there is a toner spill, clean any metal or plastic parts of the printer with an alcohol wipe. Use cold water and soap to clean toner from hands or clothing. Avoid touching the green surface of the Drum and the Transfer Belt (belt located under all the drums).
