If you bring home a cheap inkjet printer, you are going to spend a fortune for the ink. Some printer manufacturers, like Dell, consistently keep the price of their printer ink supplies high, while others like Kodak make effort to keep the prices of their printer ink products relatively low.
Kodak’s line of products is one of the most reasonable in terms of quality and price. For the Kodak multifunction printer, the cost of black ink is very low and it cost only 3 cents per page, whether you are using standard size or high-yield inkjet cartridges for your printer. Color cartridges like cyan, magenta and yellow, the cost will increase a bit for a standard-size cartridge, but that is still lower as compared to average ink cartridge price. For high-yield color cartridges, the cost per page will increase to 9 to 9.5 cents which is below the average ink cartridge rates.
When we regard Kodak printer ink as ‘cheap’, it doesn’t mean cheap in any other sense. Here the term coincides with affordability in terms of price, and not quality in any sense. However, there may have been problems with the speed, quality and features in the past, but the company has introduced innovative methods that have improved the quality and overall performances.
When considering an ink cartridge, it is always important to decide how much you will print per month. High-yield cartridges come at relatively lower price, but if you are a frequent user, you will end up spending money on ink and there is also a risk associated with the print head having dried out.
