So you bought new Brother inkjet cartridges, but when you tried to install them, the printer can’t detect it. What do you do? You don’t have to worry; this error happens quite often.
There are plenty of factors that can make the error happen. It usually happens when you put in new cartridges before the printer prompts you to do so. It also happens when the machine is off, and you replace the cartridges. You must always remember to replace the cartridges while the printer is on and when the printer makes its prompt.
If it still does not detect the Brother inkjet cartridges, remove all the cartridges and individually install them. This is also applicable for replacing only a single cartridge. Continue to repeat the process until the printer detects the cartridges. There will be times where the printer is still unable to detect the cartridges. If you have the newer model of brother printers, the models usually have a jammed float. A float is a top part of an inkjet. Problems usually occur if the float is faulty or jammed. Though these cases are not uncommon, they are not unheard of.
Note that if you have the 2014 printer model or a newer one, the fault lies on a faulty microchip. Make sure to go to a service center if the problem still persists. It is better to have a professional to tinker with the machine’s electrical board than doing it yourself. Usually, Brother printers do not often have issues, but isolated cases cannot always be avoided.
